NEC Display and Home Group Introduces New Full High Definition (HD) Plasma Television

- NEC Display and Home Group, a leading provider of retail LCD and plasma displays, has today announced the release of its full high definition plasma television, the 50-inch PXT50FHDP1.

The first in NEC’s full high definition plasma range, the PXT-50FHDP1 takes advantage of the latest Full HD technology and provides entertainment enthusiasts with the ultimate viewing experience.

Extending NEC’s existing television portfolio, the new full HD plasma complements NEC’s full HD range of LCD televisions, providing consumers with more choice for their home entertainment needs.

The new frontier of high definition viewing, full HD provides consumers with an increase in image resolution with unprecedented depth, detail and clarity in picture quality that until now has only been offered in a commercial context.

The 50-inch PXT50FHDP1 utilises the latest panel generated from Japanese technology to create vividly clear images. In addition to the panel, the PXT-50FHDP1 combines 1920×1080 progressive scanning as well as 100hz refresh rate technology to ensure picture quality is delivered with extreme precision.

NEC’s PXT50FHDP1 offers consumers superior picture quality, enhanced with a 30,000:1 contrast ratio. Providing a richer gradation of black imaging, viewers can benefit from more clearly defined images and a superior home entertainment experience.

Moreover, with a host of standard features including multiple HDMI inputs, noise reduction, parental guidance, electronic program guide (EPG) and integrated HD tuner to enable access to high definition channels, the PXT-50FHDP1 is designed with superior functionality in mind.

The PXT50FHDP1 is currently available in Australia now through authorised NEC retailers for a RRP of $3,499. Additional sizes are to be released in the coming months. The model comes with NEC’s 12 Month Warranty (In Home Service Metropolitan Areas Only).

- NEC Display and Home Group, a leading provider of retail LCD and plasma displays, has today announced the latest range of NEC high definition plasma televisions, the 42-inch PXT42XD3 and the 50-inch PXT50XD3.

Replacing the existing NEC XD2 version model, the new XD3 range of HD plasma televisions with built-in HD tuner, feature more stylish cabinetry, enhancing the aesthetic design of any home entertainment layout.

Both models feature 3 HDMI Inputs, allowing for multiple HD devices to be connected and displayed, maximising the potential of the television without impacting on the quality of the picture.

The PXT42XD3 and the PXT50XD3 with 1024×768 and 1365×768 resolution respectively offer consumers superior picture quality, enhanced with a 30,000:1 contrast ratio. Offering a richer gradation that impacts the intensity of the black visual displays, viewers can benefit from more clearly defined images, offering a more advanced home entertainment experience.

Both the 42-inch and 50-inch comes with stands, however can be easily wall mounted to suit the fitting of your home. Compatible with most common wall mounting brackets otherwise, consumers have the option of purchasing the brackets from NEC or through leading retailers.

Focusing on flexibility, the XD3 plasma offers user the ability to choose from multiple sounds and picture mode to enhance the movie quality and suit individual preferences. In addition, the new XD3 features a host of standard features including, parental guidance, timer, teletext, inbuilt speakers, integrated high definition tuner and electronic programme guide (EPG) to allow viewers to see available television program information up to 7 days in advance (when receiving HD signals).

To cater for the ultimate home experience, NEC has incorporated RS-232 control on both models of the XD3s. This enables users to connect several hardware and peripheral devices, all accessed on the one centralised keypad, offering complete control at your fingertips.

Pricing and Availability

The PXT42XD3 and PXT50XD3 are currently available in Australia at all good retailers for the RRP of $1,599 and $2199 respectively. Both models come with NEC’s famous 12 Month Warranty (In Home Service Metropolitan Areas Only).
